HAMPSHIRE'S police force is recruiting for 'committed' special constables to join their team.
People who can "empathise with others" and "listen to their needs" are being sought by Hampshire Constabulary.
Special constables are volunteers who work closely with regular officers to help police their communities.
They have the same powers and wear the same uniform as a regular police officer, and are given proper training for the role before carrying out duties.
All of this is done in the volunteer's spare time, of which a minimum of 16 hours is needed to be spent with the force per month.

Duties include neighbourhood policing, supporting victims of crime, house to house enquiries, and more.
Successful applicants will be required to take part in an extensive training course which is split into two parts.
This includes practical operational skills and workshops.
Applications can be made on the Hampshire Constabulary website, where further information can also be found.
