ANDOVER residents are being invited to plant a strawberry or tomato plant to take home at a free event this weekend.
At the Meet and Grow event, to be held by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at at King Arthurs Way Community Hall on Saturday April 30 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, expert advice will be available.
There will also be a number of stalls including Solutions for Health, RCS pantry, Andover Trees United, and the Walk and Talk group., plus free tea, coffee, juice, biscuits and fruit.
Helen Coleman, transformation manager at the Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG, said: “This is a great event to bring together the local community and a brilliant opportunity for budding gardeners to hear expert advice. We can even deliver your planted strawberry or tomato plant to your home if you are unable to carry it.”
The event is being supported by a number of local community groups and is being funded by Test Valley Borough Council, Rooting for Andover and the NHS Healthier Communities Project.
Another event will be taking place on Saturday, May 14 at St Pauls Church, Smannell Road, Andover.
