RESIDENTS of Augusta Park will have their say on plans for the final phase of the housing development at a public meeting next week.
Developer Taylor Wimpey is hosting a session at August Park Community Centre on Wednesday, May 4, for attendees to “view the the emerging revised proposals for the final phase of the Augusta Park development”.
The public consultation event will be open from 2pm to 7pm, for people to drop in at a time which suits them, and the company says it is “looking forward” to meeting people and going through the revised plans.
It comes after members of Test Valley Borough Council’s northern area planning committee rejected a “shoddy” application for 130 new homes at August Park on March 31.

Council officers recommended the proposal for rejection on a total of 16 grounds, including that it was not “high quality development”, a shortfall in parking provision, and lack of private outdoor space for apartments located above garage blocks.
Posting to Facebook, TVBC leader Cllr Phil North wrote: “Well done to Cllr Nick Matthews, Cllr Tracey Tasker and Cllr Kirsty North for persuading Taylor Wimpey to put on the below consultation event in the Augusta Park Community Centre next week.
“Taylor Wimpey’s planning application for the final phase at Augusta Park was turned down by Test Valley Borough Council’s Planning Committee last month due to poor design and highways concerns. Forcing them to think again.
“Please do go along and have your say before their revised proposals are resubmitted to the council.”
