HAMPSHIRE Fare, the county food group, has launched the latest edition of its free annual Discover Local Produce Guide, listing where to find the finest local food, drink and craft across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The guide always features a distinctive and colourful front cover and this year’s is a dish especially created by award-winning chef patron Gordon Stott of The Purefoy, Preston Candover, using local ingredients provided by Hampshire Fare members.

Tracy Nash, commercial manager, Hampshire Fare, said: “We are delighted to be launching our much anticipated annual Discover Local Produce Guide. This year’s edition has a special focus on green issues with features on eating seasonally, our sustainable seafood project in partnership with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, and our members’ green initiatives.
“This focus on green issues is in response to the increasing interest in the environment and conscious consumerism. Buying local and eating seasonally have always been two of the more accessible ways for families, foodies and those in the food and drink industry to be greener, and it is an approach that Hampshire Fare has been promoting for over 30 years.
“We are very proud that our Guide has become well established as an essential resource for those in the industry, among them chefs and people running delis, farm shops and village stores. However, it is also appreciated by consumers keen to know more about provenance and supporting local independents.”
The Discover Local Produce With Hampshire Fare Guide was launched by a special Hampshire Fare Roadshow on Friday, April 22, visiting retail and hospitality members across the region.
