AN ANDOVER woman is praying and appealing for help in finding her missing African Grey parrot which was last seen on Sunday, May 8.
Jenson, a rescue bird, was last seen flying from the top of Love Lane towards the Wolversdene Club in Andover.
Natalie Clark, who has been taking care of Jenson for the past three months, said she is extremely worried for the safety of her bird and is requesting people to look around this morning in their garden, trees, and rooftops.
Natalie volunteers for Safehaven Parrot Refuge and that’s how Jenson came to her home three months ago.
“I have been safe-housing the bird and bringing him back to full health,” she said.
“At the moment, he's still looking a little bit worse, and he's got a plucked tummy. But he's got new feathers and they are quite distinguishably white rather than grey.
“He's got a female friend at my house. She's missing him very much.”
Jenson escaped through the backdoor of Natalie’s house when it was open for just a brief second. Once he got outside, he panicked and didn’t know where to go.
“He was last spotted flying to Wolversdene Club. So we know he is staying very local,” Natalie said.
“He would have come down around about 6 o'clock as they don’t fly after that. In the night he wouldn't have moved again till about six o'clock this morning. They tend not to fly far so I'm convinced he's within a half-mile radius of the house.”
Natalie and her family and friends are out looking for the bird on Monday, May 9. Some people have seen her Facebook posts and volunteered to join her mission.
She said Jenson is unlikely to be in tall trees because he is scared of other birds. He might be sitting on rooftops, or any high points of buildings or any branches that don't have many leaves on.
If you see Jenson anywhere in Andover, urgently call Natalie at 07525120552 or her husband Tommy at 07958439360.
