AN ANDOVER woman is over the moon after finding her missing African Grey parrot, thanks to the incredible efforts of the Andover community and a very brave man.
Natalie Clark, who has been taking care of the rescue bird Jenson for the past three months, said she is ecstatic and over the moon after getting her parrot back.
Jenson was rescued on Monday night (May 9) - 24 hours after it flew away from her home.
He was caught by Natalie’s cousin Clint Shearer, who bravely climbed on top of the high roof to safely get Jenson back home.

Natalie, a Safehaven Parrot Refuge, had shared an appeal to find the missing bird on her Facebook profile and various Andover groups.
The Advertiser had also shared the story of the missing parrot.
Natalie said a couple who saw the Advertiser report, spotted the parrot in their garden and called her immediately.
“Sadly, I didn't get their names. I was in such a hurry and excited when they called,” Natalie said.
“I didn't take any details down. I literally just drove there. I want to try and find out their door numbers. So I can send them some flowers to say thank you.”
Jenson was sitting on a tree when they spotted him.
“I brought my other African Grey [Jenson’s female friend] with me to try and call him down and put his cage up on the garages,” Natalie said.
“Someone managed to climb up and shake the branch that he was on, but he couldn’t reach him. And then he flew out of there and circled a few times.
“You could see he was desperate to try and come to us, but he didn't quite know how to go descend as he is a domestic bird. And then he landed on Ashbourne Court Care Home’s roof which is on Salisbury Road.
“Bless the caretaker and the staff there, they chucked in a blanket and let Clint go up on the roof.
“Oh my God, I had my heart in my mouth. That was so high. It must have been three or four stories. And he literally just climbed out there and just walked straight across the ridge and got this blanket over him. And then he got bitten as well because Jenson was obviously scared. He still managed to not fall off that roof. How I don't know. God must have been with him.”
Natalie added that Jenson is happy to be back home and he looks like he enjoyed his little adventure.
“He's got a few scrapes on him. He's obviously landed in trees that he's not used to. But other than that, he seems absolutely fine.
“I would like to thank the Advertiser too. I don't think we would have got the coverage we did without the Advertiser’s help. Thanks so much.”
