SHOPPERS at the Chantry Centre were alerted to a fire in Waitrose this afternoon.
Two fire crews were called to the shopping centre in Andover today (May 11) after reports of a fire inside the supermarket.
The fire reportedly involved a refrigerator unit.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Crews from Basingstoke and Andover attended a fire at the Waitrose in the Chantry Centre this afternoon. The fire was involving a refrigerator unit on the shop floor.
"Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 3 fire extinguishers and 1 hose reel to put out the fire.
"The call was received at 16:41.
"The stop message came through at 18:21"
