VOLUNTEERS and pupils at an Andover primary school have planted a tree to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Volunteer gardeners and pupils at Andover CE Primary School have been hard at work ahead of next month's celebrations.
The tree has been accepted by The Queens Green Canopy on their (QGC) map for all to see.
The school also has a playground party planned for Thursday, May 26 to celebrate with all the pupils, staff and volunteers.
The tree, a Prunus Royal Burgundy, was purchased from Blakes in Vigo Road.
It was chosen for it's shape when it matures, for the pink coloured flowers in the spring, and it's burgundy leaves through the summer which turn red in the autumn.
A plaque has also been added to the tree site to record the planting by the children.
