A ONE-OF-A-KIND commissioned motif will be installed on Guildhall to remember the occasion of Queen’s platinum jubilee, the Andover Town Council has announced.
The ‘ER motif’ will be a replica of the plaque that was designed and installed on Andover Town Hall, the current Guildhall, in honour of the Queen’s coronation in 1953.
In 2012, Andover Town Council had commissioned the replica for installation on the Guildhall, the position of the original, to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
So this is the second time the town council is commissioning to install the motif.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Guildhall and view the ER motif when the installation is complete.
The town council also released a picture from 1953 of the original plaque being dedicated in front of the town hall.
