Andover Bowls Club is throwing its doors open-as part of the National Big Bowls Weekend, on Saturday May 28.
From 10am till 1pm, irrespective of age or experience, everyone is welcome to try their hand at bowling on the beautiful green – the only rule is to wear flat shoes.
New bowlers who sign up at an open day will enjoy half-price membership fees for their first year.
An outdoor sport that rewards hand-eye coordination and a tactical mind, lawn bowling saw a surge in interest when Covid restrictions lifted last year and its appeal is continuing to grow, particularly among younger members.
Members can play for fun or choose to compete in leagues that play in the Basingstoke, Whitchurch and Salisbury areas.
