RESIDENTS are being encouraged to join Andover Town Council for a Picnic in the Park to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday (June 5).
Whether or not your street is hosting a street party, all are welcome at this community event from 2pm.
There will be a treasure hunt, balloon artist, and free cupcakes for the first 100 attendees.
Organisers will also be judging a jubilee themed ‘best dressed’ competition, and music will be played for all to enjoy.
The event was spearheaded by the late Cllr Barbara Long, former mayor of Andover, who sadly died earlier this month. The town council is therefore hoping people will come along and make it an event to remember to honour her life and all she gave to th town, as well as the Queen’s historic 70-year reign.
