A WHITCHURCH man has been named as a Regional Award winner in the JTL Regional Awards.
JTL, the leading work-based learning provider in England and Wales, runs the JTL Regional and National Awards on an annual basis awarding those who have demonstrated high levels of achievement and commitment to learning throughout their apprenticeships.
William Hall, who works for R S Birch & Partners, was presented with a trophy and £100 in prize money whilst onsite by JTL head of learner assessment Martin Hick. He was nominated for the award by his training officer Dan Hatton in recognition of his commitment and excellent progress with his electrical apprenticeship.
Mr Hall now joins 10 other Regional Award winners, who will go ‘head-to-head’ in the hope of being named JTL National Apprentice of the Year at the National Awards taking place in London on July 20.
Mr Hatton said: “Will was an exemplary apprentice. He was always asking what he needed to do to achieve his qualification and was keen to arrange assessments at the earliest opportunity. He responded quickly to everything that was asked of him and this resulted in achieving his qualification a full 12 months ahead of his PED.
“If all my apprentices had the same drive and organisational abilities that he does, my job would be incredibly easy. He was a pleasure to assess as his knowledge shone through and he offered in depth answers to a variety of questions and would lead a discussion very well.”
Mr Hall added: “I was really pleased to hear that I had been chosen as a JTL Regional Award winner, and I’m incredibly proud to learn that I am also a finalist in the National Awards. I’m grateful for the recognition as it shows that my hard work has paid off and would like to give a special thanks to Dan Hatton for nominating me.”
The award scheme, which is now in its seventh year, assesses each nominee against four key elements which make up the apprenticeship framework – their practical work onsite, theoretical knowledge, key skills and industrial test scores.
