AN ANDOVER charity has been able to secure a new polytunnel skin for its allotment thanks to Test Valley Borough Council ward funding.
A successful application for £800 was made to the Test Valley Borough Council ward grant for the Andover St Mary's area, which enabled staff at charity Unity to purchase a new polytunnel skin and tools for their allotment off Vigo Road
Cllr Iris Andersen, Cllr Jan Budzynski and Cllr Victoria Harber, who had all supported the application, joined Christianne Ireland and volunteers, Dave and Lynn Redman at the allotment on Saturday, June 4 to see the improvements being made to the site.

The site which is being developed to enable disability access, is already supporting Unity’s health and social care provision and plans are afoot to help other community groups to pre-book spaces to complement their own services too.
Terry Bishop, chief executive at Unity, said: “We would like to say thank you for the funding received from Test Valley Borough Council and the support received from the councillors.
"This funding gives us the potential to use the allotment as a health living and wellbeing space for the community and means we can make it an all-weather, four seasons facility in the heart of the community.”
