AN ANDOVER man has been forced to pay more than £300 after he drove nearly 20mph over the speed limit in Somerset last year.
Anthony Prince, of New Street, was driving along the A358 near J25 of the M5 at Henlade, Taunton Deane on October 25.
The restricted road has a speed limit of 30mph. However, the 61-year-old was driving at 49mph.
Prince was proven guilty via the single justice procedure on May 27 2022 at Bath Magistrates' Court.
He was handed a £214 fine, and ordered to pay £90 in costs and a £34 surcharge, making a total of £338.
His driving record was also endorsed with five penalty points.
