AN ANDOVER charity has received a boost towards upgrading its shop thanks to a Test Valley Borough Council ward grant.
St Mary’s ward councillors have given £1,000 of funding to Andover Neighbourcare, which is allowing it to purchase new equipment for its shop on Union Street.
Pam Delderfield, general manager, said: “Andover Neighbourcare would like to say a huge thank you to Cllr Iris Andersen, Cllr Victoria Harber and Cllr Jan Budzynski.
“The grant received was given to purchase a new counter and rails for our charity shop. The previous counter had been there since the shop opened and was made by one iof the volunteers. The new counter has made a huge difference to the look of the shop.
“Neighbourcare has many regular customers who are most impressed with the new look and we are very grateful for the support of St Mary’s ward, our loyal customers and for all the donations.”
All proceeds from the shop are used to help the charity with its services, running costs and rent.
Neighbourcare provides a large variety of support services for Andover residents, including cleaning, gardening, and shopping,as well as transport to medical appointments, social clubs and shops.
