AN Armed Forces Day event held at the weekend was sponsored by a local developer which is offering a £5,000 incentive for members of the Armed Forces when purchasing one of its new build homes.
The Tidworth event took place at Tidworth Park from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday, June 25.
A variety of performances and stalls were held for attendees to enjoy throughout the day, such as Hawkeye Falconry, Extreme Bike Battle Display and the Wiltshire-based band Covergirlz.
The event received a £1,500 sponsorship from Lovell, which is building homes nearby at its Drummond Park development in Ludgershall. This went towards the Tigers Children’s Motorcycle Display Team’s presentation. The team consists of riders aged five to 13, and is run by a non-profit organisation, which makes regular donations to a variety of children’s charities.
As part of the sponsorship Lovell had its own stall, where employees gave away goodie bags and invited children to plant seeds and decorate stones that will then be displayed at the Drummond Park showhomes.
Attendees were also able to find out more about the homes available at the development, where Lovell are offering members of the Armed Forces, who reserve a new Lovell home, £5,000 to be used on its Inspirations range.
The Inspirations range allows homeowners to begin customising and adding personal touches to their home before its complete. Subject to build stage, buyers can choose from a wide variety of standard finishes and upgrades to select from for every room of the property, including the kitchen, flooring, tiling and more.
Tracy Jones of Tidworth Armed Forces Day said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Lovell for sponsoring our Armed Forces Day event. This generous donation funded the Tigers Children’s Motorcycle Display Team, and we loved seeing them perform!
“We were thrilled to host this event for the Tidworth community to enjoy, and hope they all had a wonderful time.”

Julie Bowen, regional sales director at Lovell, said: “We were thrilled to sponsor this year’s Tidworth Armed Forces Day event. At Lovell, celebrating Armed Forces Day is very important to us, as we recently launched our Veteran Community Build scheme at Drummond Park. This scheme is providing veterans with work, mentoring and the opportunity to secure a new affordable home, which they have helped to build.
“We are committed to supporting local veterans across Wiltshire wherever we can, and hope that they, and other attendees, had a wonderful time at this event.
“At Drummond Park, we are delighted to be offering an incredible £5,000 incentive to military personnel. We’d highly encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch with our sales team without delay, to avoid missing out.”
Drummond Park is being delivered by Lovell in partnership with Homes England, and will consist of 412 homes on the former Defence Medical Equipment Depot. The development will feature a collection of 309 two, three and four-bedroom open market Lovell homes, as well as 103 affordable homes – 40 per cent shared ownership and 60 per cent affordable rent – for leading housing provider Stonewater.
