A GROUP of women have represented a popular Andover pub once again at Race for Life.
The Forresters Arms, on London Street, entered a team into the Newbury event on Sunday, June 28, and have together raised more than £800 for Cancer Research.
This is the 14th year the Forrrester Follies have taken part in Race for Life, and the 16th event for landlady Anne Evans. They have raised more than £16,000 in total for the cancer charity over the years.
Anne - along with Alex Dove, Julie Duke, Debbie Dewey, and Lisa Brett - completed the 10K course and raised £870.
Anne said: “I started the year my father sadly passed away from cancer. The event is well supported as we have sadly lost close friends and customers from cancer over the years and we like to remember them and try to help raise funds for cancer prevention.”
She added: “The day was amazing. Great weather in Newbury and we did the course in one hour and seven minutes.”
