A NURSERY in Andover held its first sports day in more than two years.
The sports day was held by Finkley Down Farm Nursery and was attended by children who go to the nursery as well as their families.
The sports day took place over two days, Thursday, June 30 and Friday, July 1, with the sports day on Thursday being held for children from the Finkley East Anton site, while Friday’s event was held for those who attend the Finkley Down Farm site.
Both events were held outside at the Finkley Down Farm site.

Both sports days lasted from 10:30am until 12pm, and plenty of activities for the children, the majority of whom were aged between 2-4.
There were plenty of activities that the children could choose from, including an egg and spoon race, sack race, hurdles, football and beanbag throwing.
The children could also make and decorate paper flags, and they could even get age-appropriate temporary tattoos.
A victory podium was set up where the children could pose for photos for their parents.
Every child received a medal, as well a bag of sweets for participating.
Laura Davis, whose son attends Finkley Down Farm Nursery, called the sports day “an amazing event”.
She continued: “It’s so nice that the children get to use the farm for their sports day.
“The facilities at the farm are so good, so it’s so nice they get to use all the space, and the events have been so sweet.
“It’s so nice to finally do something after the Covid palaver.”
Charlie Edwards, nursery manager at FInkley Down Farm Nursery, said: “It has been so lovely to organise and run another event this year.
“This is our first sports day since 2019 and we have had a wonderful time.

“It was brilliant to see how many parents, grandparents and siblings have come together to cheer on the children and also get involved with the activities!”
A picnic was held after the sports day ended, and the attendees were invited to use the play equipment on the nursery site.
Finkely Down Farm Nursery provides a safe and secure environment for children aged 2-5 to discover through play.
The nursery was recently voted into the top 20 nurseries in South East England in the Day Nurseries Awards.
