ANDOVER’S new market event will return to the town centre on Sunday, July 10.
Filling the High Street with music, street food and a mix of crafts and designer maker stalls, Second Sundays brings a fresh new feel to the centre of town. Last month saw the inaugural event take place, where a host of visitors flocked to the High Street to browse the stalls, enjoy the sunshine and soak up the atmosphere throughout the day.
July’s market will feature some of the popular traders from last month selling homemade bakes, unique prints and fragrant candles. New local traders will also be in attendance, selling items such as colourful crochet and knitwear and beautiful botanical art.
To tickle taste buds, local sushi business Rice n Roll will be back, along with Indian street food stall Mumbai Street Eats. Andover Tap will be serving up a special drinks menu and artisan coffee will be available to visitors who can also make use of the town’s brand new seating area, Alfresco Andover, to enjoy their refreshments.
Alongside the market traders, visitors to the July market can stop by and take part in some free family craft workshops, including a hands on paper clay session to create and decorate a unique sculpture to take home.
And providing the soundtrack to Second Sundays, the DJ’s set will feature an eclectic mix of hip hop, soul and reggae spun on vinyl throughout the day.
The monthly market has been developed by HemingwayDesign, on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council, and over the coming months will support emerging and established independent businesses from the region.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Phil North, said: “The first Second Sundays event was a great success. People came along, ate good food, sat in the sunshine, socialised and enjoyed the music.
“It really demonstrated what fantastic local businesses we have in the region and made for a great day out in the town centre. I’m excited for the next one to take place and look forward to watching this monthly event grow.”
Second Sundays will be open 10am to 4pm on Sunday, July 10.
Subsequent dates will be August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13 and December 11.
