ANDOVER'S MP has said "it's been a difficult day" but was not prepared to comment further as he was spotted leaving the cabinet office on Wednesday, July 6.
It comes after at least 27 ministers and aides have resigned from their positions in the past 24 hours, as Boris Johnson faces growing revolt over his leadership.
Policing and crime Minister and MP for North West Hampshire, who is known to have consistently backed the Prime Minister historically, is yet to respond to the Advertiser's request for comment.
He was spotted leaving the cabinet office, and asked a variety of questions by waiting journalists, including what the mood is like, whether he is backing Boris Johnson, and whether he is sad about the events of the day.
In a response aired on BBC News, he said simply: "It's been a difficult day, but I am not prepared to comment any further."
