AN APPLESHAW man has been forced to pay more than £1,000 after he was caught speeding at more than double the speed limit.
On December 5, 2021, Michael Saunders, of Whistlers Mead, drove a Mercedes on the A306 Rocks Lane near Mill Hill Road at 42mph.
The limit is 20mph.
On June 28 at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court, the 70-year-old pleaded guilty via the single justice procedure.
He was handed a £1,000 fine, plus costs of £90 and a £100 surcharge.
His driving record was also endorsed with six penalty points.
