A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after a car collided with a barrier at a petrol station near Andover.
Police were called to the scene at 2.04pm, with reports of a single vehicle collision involving a Range Rover, which had overturned on the forecourt of The Buck services off the A303 eastbound.
The driver, a 28-year-old man from London, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He remains in custody at this time.
Tim Howison from Basingstoke was driving past the scene shortly after the crash. He explained that the fire service had turned the vehicle back over.
He added: "The car was on its side after hitting the barrier protecting the pumps. Apparently this sort of crash happens there every now and then."
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On-call firefighters from Whitchurch were called to a road traffic collision at a garage on Basingstoke Road in Longparish this afternoon at 2.12pm.
"There were no casualties involved in the incident which saw one car roll over.
"The crew provided scene safety, assisting police in recovering the car.
"The firefighters returned to station at 2.39pm."
