AN ANDOVER teenager, who fought off a 10-foot crocodile during an attack in Africa, has reached the final 10 for an Act of Courage award.
Amelie Osborn-Smith, 18, fought and escaped from a crocodile when she was attacked in the Zambezi river in Zambia last December.
She was white water rafting with her friends on her gap year visit to Zambia, where her grandmother owns a farm.
The approximately 10-foot crocodile grabbed onto her legs and dragged her into a death roll. Her friend took hold of her life jacket and the crocodile eventually let go.

Amelie has now reached the final 10 selection stage in the Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons 2022 Act of Courage category.
Four finalists will be selected from each category and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 11.
In attendance at the awards will be Falklands War hero Simon Weston, who will be chairing the judging panel, as well as BBC TV and radio presenter Rachel Burden who will show her support.
The awards have been put on by Amplifon which is leading global hearing specialists with 107 stores across the UK.
