A NEW bar will open in Andover, if its premises licence is approved.
The Ark Bar is set to open at 43 London Street where Area 51 nightclub used to operate.
Area 51 closed down six years and the premises has been empty ever since.
Jason Wyatt has applied to the Test Valley Borough Council for the grant of a new premises licence for The Ark Bar.

Mr Wyatt, from Andover, said he hopes to open a bar which can used as a community hub, by encouraging live music and boosting people's mental wellbeing. He hopes the bar will breathe new life into the town centre by occupying a currently empty premises.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to this application should email licensing@testvalley.gov.uk.
A Facebook page opened by The Ark Bar said it is hiring staff including bartenders and front of house. Interested candidates are asked to write to arkbarandover@gmail.com.
