THOUSANDS of people attended the return of the Andover Carnival on Sunday (July 17).

After a three-year absence due to the Covid pandemic, Andover Carnival made its much-anticipated comeback, raising funds for Andover Twenty1, a charity which provides support to children with Down's syndrome, and their families, from birth and through school.

Vigo Park once again hosted a funfair, an array of stalls and a stage showcasing more than eight hours of local talent.

To compliment that, the procession made its way from Weyhill Road at 4pm, through town to finish up by all the other action near Vigo Road around 5.30pm.

Kevin Rush, chair of the carnival committee, said: "It was amazing to see so much of the community out and enjoying the entertainment and procession. As a committee we have really missed this event and we’re so glad to be able to bring it back. Plans are already in place for an even bigger and better event for 2023."
