DRIVERS in and around Test Valley will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am August 18 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.
• M27, from 8pm October 17 2019 to 6am August 20 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 5 to junction 4, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
• M27, from 8pm March 28 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 5, carriageway closure between the slip roads for M27 Smart Motorways.
• M3, from 9pm October 10 2018 to 6am August 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to M27 eastbound, link road and lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:
• M27, from 9pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 3, slip road and lane closures for barrier repairs, diversion via National Highways network.
• M27, from 8pm August 16 to 6am August 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, Rownhams Services, Services slip road and lane closures.
• A303, from 8pm August 20 to 6am August 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Picket Twenty, slip road and lane closures for horticulture work, diversion via National Highways network.
• A303, from 8pm August 21 to 6am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Thruxton, Lane closures and diversion for horticulture work.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
