A FAMILY fete and flower show has managed to raise thousands for good causes after attracting more than 1,000 visitors.
Taking place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29, the Goodworth Clatford Village Fete attracted visitors from far and wide to raise money for an array of charities.
The fete regularly raises thousands of pounds for good causes in the local area, and has done so for many years, except in 2020 due to the Covid lockdown.
The community groups and charities that benefited from the fete this year included Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Guide Dogs for the Blind, The Clatford Arms pub, Andover Model Railway Club, the Women’s Institute, the 4th Andover Scouts, the Whitchurch Silk Mill and the Clatford Village Store.
Meanwhile, St Peter’s Church managed to raise more than £3,000.
Events on offer at the fete this year included a hog roast, a free dog show, second hand books and bric a brac for sale, bottle tombola and other fun activities for all the family.

Village fete organiser Jane Drew said: “Huge thanks to everyone who turned up and took part – in the fun dog show, watching our magician Magic Charlie, the children’s toy boat race and other events – all in the most glorious sunshine.
“We were also hugely appreciative that the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Alan Dowden and his wife, Celia, were able to come along to enjoy the festivities, and present the Flower Show Challenge Cups and other prizes.”
