ANDOVER'S MP has been appointed as the next education secretary by new Prime Minister Liz Truss.
Kit Malthouse, MP for North West Hampshire, was given the position as the PM appointed her new cabinet on Tuesday, September 6. In July Mr Malthouse was made Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, after a number of ministers resigned in the wake of controversies surrounding the former PM Boris Johnson.
Mr Malthouse has become the ninth education secretary in the past 12 years.
