A WILDLIFE artist based in Andover is creating a collection of 100 miniature drawings of endangered species in a bid to raise money for charities working to protect the planet.

Zoe Fitchet, who is passionate about wildlife conservation and protecting our planet, said a big part of her work involves raising awareness for threatened species and educating people all about animals they may not have heard of.

Through art, Zoe said, she is trying to financially support conservation works.

This year, she has set out to create a collection of 100 miniature drawings of species from all across the world and from different animal groups.

“Each species is threatened by extinction in some way and is therefore in need of support and action to protect their numbers from declining further,” Zoe said.

“It is called 100 Endangered Species Project. The project involves 100 1.5” x 1.75” coloured pencil drawings, each to be finished in a black 6x8” frame.

“From every single piece, a donation of £100 will be given to a charity working to save that particular species.”

The sale value of originals is £350 per piece, including donation.

A fact card teaching the collector all about the species will also be included with each original, and a set of fact cards for all 100 will also be released as an edition for the series. Zoe said at least 10 per cent of profits for these edition will go to wildlife conservation and any other editions released with the series.

She is also planning to exhibit her collection later.
