A WOMAN has been handed points on her driving licence after being caught using her phone while driving in Andover.
Gabby Lee, of Town Road in Sandhurst, was stopped by police on Newbury Road on May 25 last year. She was driving a Ford Transit while using a hand-held mobile telephone.
The 22-year-old was fined £256, and ordered to pay costs of £110 and a victim surcharge of £102.
On the same date in Andover, Lee was found to be driving a vehicle with no insurance or such security in respect of third-party risks.
For driving with no insurance she was fined £768.
She pleaded guilty to both offences at Aldershot Magistrates Court on October 3 this year.
A MAN from Andover has been disqualified from driving after failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Moshir Rashidi, of Longparish Court in Andover, was stopped in Southampton on July 30, 2022. He was asked to provide a specimen of breath but failed to do so without any reasonable excuse.
He also failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Southampton Magistrates' Court having been released on bail.
He pleaded guilty to both offences on September 30, 2022.
During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates Court, the 34-year-old was disqualified from driving for 12 months and magistrates also ordered him to pay a fine of £184, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £74.
He must also complete a driving course by April 29, 2023.
No separate penalty was given for the breach of bail.
AN Andover man has been ordered to pay court costs after he failed to comply with a community order.
Dean Bradley Atkin, of Linton Drive, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Basingstoke Magistrates Court on October 25, 2021.
He failed to provide a reasonable excuse within the specified time period or after.
The 32-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on October 5 and pleaded guilty.
Magistrates ordered Atkin to pay court costs totalling £65.
The community order, which included 120 hours of unpaid work, is related to offences committed in 2018 when Atkin assaulted two people and damaged various household items.
