WEOS welcomes the return of Mark Thompson for the club’s concert at the Fairground Hall, Weyhill on Thursday, November 17.
Mark, who will be making his sixth visit to Weyhill, is based in Durham and has been playing piano and keyboard professionally for around 20 years, gaining a wealth of experience in many aspects of music in the process.
In addition to his concert performances, Mark has worked as an accompanist, musical director, theatre musician, vocal coach and a member of many bands, playing a variety of genres.
In addition to his concert performances, he has played for hundreds of weddings, parties and functions, adapting to whatever style of music is required. In recent years, he has also been musical director at the Gala Theatre in Durham for their annual pantomime.
A distant memory now, but in 2007 Mark completed a mathematics degree at Durham University, which may one day prove useful! Whatever he achieves, Mark certainly has a commendable ambition – namely to continue playing as much music as possible for people to enjoy. An extremely active and versatile performer.
