BRITAIN’S oldest wine and spirit merchant has opened a new warehouse in Andover, and recently received a visit from the town’s MP.
The Berry Bros & Rudd bespoke warehouse at Andover Business Park is one of the largest fine wine storage facilities for private clients in Europe, with the capacity to store more than 14 million bottles of wine.
Ground was broken on the warehouse in August last year and now the facility has opened.
Earlier this month, MP for North West Hampshire Kit Malthouse paid a visit to the warehouse.
He said: “I’m pleased to see Berry Bros & Rudd’s, frankly massive, distribution warehouse up and running at the Andover Business Park.
“I was impressed to learn that the huge operation will generate its own energy supply through solar panels and rainwater harvesting.
“It’s an exciting investment in, and a vote of confidence for, Andover — they recognised our quick access onto the A303 and great links to the South East and South West. And it means more jobs and quality opportunities for local people.
“It’s also great to see another large family-owned business coming to our area, bringing stability and prosperity with it.”
