A SCAFFOLD pole came loose from a vehicle on a busy Hampshire road and pierced another car's door, seriously injuring the driver.
The 33-year-old woman, from Hook, was driving a black Vauxhall Astra on the A327 Minley Road in Blackwater when a vehicle travelling the other way shed the scaffolding pole.
The incident happened between 11.45am and 11.54am on Tuesday, November 8 and police are now appealing for witnesses and information.
The woman suffered a serious leg injury and she was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

There were also two young children in the car who were uninjured.
The driver of the scaffolding vehicle initially remained at the scene before leaving without giving any details.
A police spokesman said: "Following initial inquiries we are calling for the driver of the scaffolding vehicle to come forward.
"We are also looking for witnesses and anyone with information or dash cam footage.
"Anyone with relevant information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 44220454206.
