TEST Valley motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M27, from 8pm September 26 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 5, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
• M3, from 8pm September 21 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to M27 eastbound, link road and lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
• M27, from 8pm October 17, 2019, to 6am December 16, 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 5 to junction 4, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A34, from 8pm November 14, 2022, to 6am January 28, 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Whitchurch, Narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit in place for barrier upgrades.
• A303, from 8pm November 1, 2022, to 6am January 28, 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 northbound, Bullington to Litchfield, carriageway closure for barrier upgrades, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
• M27, from 8pm November 14 to 6am November 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 3 to junction 4, carriageway closure for roadmarkings, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
• M27, from 8pm November 21 to 6am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 3 and M271 southbound, junction 1, Lane closures for survey work.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
