AN ANDOVER primary school has been graded as 'good' by Ofsted after being told to improve at its previous inspection.
Ofsted recognised that Vigo Primary School has significantly improved since its last inspection in 2019 where it was rated as 'requires improvement'.
It is now judged as a 'good' school following Ofsted's visit in October.
The Ofsted report stated that there is a warm and friendly feel to the school, where everyone is welcome and valued.
It also highlighted that the pupils across the school read well and leaders make sure that staff are skilled at teaching pupils how to read.
A parent of the school said: “The school has an amazing staff who go above and beyond to support individual children’s needs."

Ofsted inspectors also recognised that leaders have been relentless in their actions to improve the school since the previous inspection and they have made sure that the school’s curriculum is interesting and ambitious.
The inspectors were particularly impressed by the school's strong safeguarding culture citing that staff are trained well and know how to identify and report any concerns about pupils’ safety.
Headteacher Julie Bray said: “Everyone at Vigo Primary School is passionate about creating the amazing school our pupils and community so richly deserve.
"I am grateful to staff, children, parents/carers and governors who have supported us over the last few years. Their support, dedication and willingness to embrace change have been the foundations on which the improvements we have made were built.
"We all know what a special place the school is, but having this recognised by Ofsted is great and truly deserved."
