AN Andover business is celebrating a birthday milestone.
Scientific Management International (SMI), based at North Way in Andover, is celebrating its 30th year of operation.
The company designs and manufactures fit-and-forget pressure moulded cable systems for use in critical infrastructure across defence, energy, aerospace and transport sectors.
SMI is the only company in the world that holds Capability Approval, from the UK Ministry of Defence, for the production of submarine pressure hull glands and polyethylene cable systems.

Jenny Shaw, chief executive officer, said: “It was a pleasure to take the time to gather together this week to take pride in three decades of world-leading manufacture. Many of our team have been with the organisation for more than twenty years and we have welcomed a raft of talented new colleagues this year too.
"Our business developments and technical innovations across all our operating sectors promise continued success for many years to come.”
Established in 1992, SMI employs over 60 people and has added 25 jobs in Andover in 2022 as part of their growth.
As a STEM promoter, SMI works with Andover schools to encourage students to pursue engineering and technical vocations.
The company also provides a range of apprentice schemes across the business for both career starters and developing professionals.
