A POPULAR ice cream parlour in Andover has announced on social media that it will close later in the year due to the cost-of-living crisis.
The owners of Canto Gelato shared a heartfelt post on Facebook on Wednesday, November 30 thanking customers for their support over the last three years.
The premises will close its doors during Christmas Week, although an exact date has not been given.
The post, written by owner Kelly Jones said: "It is with a sad heart this post is being written to say as of Christmas Week 2022 Canto will be closing its doors for good.
"We’ve beat covid but we just can’t beat inflation. We have put our heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into the shop for 3 years but have been left with little choice to close.
"We want to say a huge thank you to our amazing customers, most of whom have become friends and also to all who have supported us.
"The staff old and new have also kept the ship sailing and we love you all. Steve and our kids, thank you for following and supporting my dream and now it’s time for you to have me back.
"But I’m an Andover girl and you can’t keep us down!!"
The post concluded: "Please support us in our final few weeks."
The post has been met with disappointment from customers who have visited and enjoyed the parlour over the years.
