A COMMUNITY organisation is continuing its search for a new home after its old premises were rendered unsafe to use.

Andover Community Exchange had to leave its previous home on Andover High Street after it was left unusable due to a combination of graffiti and water damage.

The charity, which consists of ACE Community Lounge and Warm Hub, Andover Community Fridge, Andover Clothing Exchange and child-drop-in space ACE Youth, was able to find a temporary home at the Anton Trading Estate thanks to local company Stannah.

However, the charity group is still looking for a permanent new home.

Charity co-founder Maria Tierney, who runs ACE with her sister Tania Hall, said: “The amazing generosity of Stannahs allowing us temporary use of Unit 14, Anton Business Park has meant we could run the Community fridge and Lounge during the challenging weather and isolating period of December.

“It also gave us the opportunity to run our packed-out Baby and Clothing bank events, ACE Grotto and ACE youth which booked out!

“We can’t thank the community and local businesses enough for their ongoing support that makes ACE what it is today.

“Reality is hitting now, we know that the unit was only temporary as is under contract in January.

“‘A Space for ACE’ is now critical.”

The charity is looking for a large, open plan space in a central location in Andover, such as the Anton Trading Estate or the town centre.

The charity asks that anyone who knows of a suitable space that it can use to get in touch via email.
