TIDWORTH and Perham Down residents have received a ‘thank you’ letter from King Charles III.
In a letter addressed to the Tidworth town clerk Carly Lovell, the Royal correspondence secretary on behalf of the King thanked the community for its kind messages and a Book of Condolence for his late mother Queen Elizabeth II.
The secretary said the King was greatly touched by the message of sympathy and the tributes paid to his beloved mother.
Tidworth Town Council had sent a letter and the Book of Condolence to the King following the death of the Queen in September.

It read: “The King has asked me to thank you for your letter on behalf of the Tidworth and Perham Down community with which you enclosed a Book of Condolence.
“His Majesty was greatly touched by your message of sympathy and the tributes to his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, from all the signatories and has asked me to send his warmest thanks and very best wishes.”
