Lit in Colour was created in 2020 by Penguin Books UK and the Runnymede Trust. Its aim was to provide schools with the support and tools they need to introduce more books by people of colour into classrooms for all ages.
Penguin has supported schools to make a change through Lit in Colour by publishing free interactive teaching resources for all ages as well as donating thousands of books to schools across the country.
The Runnymede Trust said it is vital that the books we read in our formative years reflect the rich diversity of the society we live in.

Head of school Sarah Johnson-Motyl said: "It is such an honour to not only be recognised by Penguin Books but to win is just the next step to helping our school become the best it can.
"These new books will help us actively promote British values through a rich and diverse curriculum. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that teaches elements of democracy, civic responsibility, rules and laws, the monarchy, equality, values and virtues, environmental awareness, and understanding of other faiths."
