MAGISTRATES have handed an Andover driver penalty points after they got behind the wheel with no valid driving licence.
Gesmir Dauti, of High Street, drove a Volkswagen Golf Index on London Road in Andover without a driving licence in 2021. Dauti also had no valid insurance to drive the vehicle.
During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, they pleaded guilty to the offence and the 20-year-old driver was fined £120 and magistrates also gave them six penalty points.
On top of that, they were also ordered to pay court costs of £40 and a surcharge fee of £34.
A DRINK driver from Andover has been banned from getting behind the wheel for two years and fined hundreds of pounds.
Iustin Agherasimoaei, of Calder Court, drove a BMW on Junction Road last year after consuming so much alcohol that they had 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.
Magistrates banned them from getting behind the wheel for 25 months and fined them £923. On top of this, the driver was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and also a surcharge fee of £369.
A MAN from Andover who stole two gammon joints from Iceland has been put behind bars.
Adam Felton, of Turin Court, stole two gammon joints to the vale of £11 belonging to Iceland in Andover on January 25 this year.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
Magistrates sent Felton to prison for 17 weeks due to him being a 'persistent offender'.
MAGISTRATES have given an Andover driver points for failing to comply with the indication given by a no-entry road sign.
Luis Hardy, of Redbridge Drive, drove a Ford Fiesta in Andover and failed to take notice of a no-entry sign lawfully placed on or near Picket Twenty Road last year.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing held at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.
Hardy was fined £96 and magistrates also decided to endorse their driving license with three penalty points for the offence.
They have also been ordered to pay court costs of £40 and a surcharge fee of £34.
