TEST Valley's new chief inspector has met with the borough council leader to discuss concerns surrounding drugs and anti-social behaviour.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council Phil North recently met with the new Test Valley Chief Inspector of Police Hayley O’Grady.

She has taken over from Kory Thorne who retired at the end of January.

Cllr North posted on Facebook: "I enjoyed a good working relationship with Kory who always kept me updated with serious issues and responded to things promptly and pragmatically. Although she will bring her own style, Hayley has promised to do the same, especially in relation to communication, which I’m really grateful for. We also mentioned social media communication, which she’s keen to do a lot more of. Test Valley Cops is a good page to follow if you don’t already do so."

Important matters that are currently affecting the community were discussed.

Cllr North continued: "I also took the opportunity to raise matters of public concern including county lines drug issues, anti-social behaviour with a focus on town centres and the enforcement of our traveller injunction. Which I know are all priorities for local people. Thanks too to those that sent me other issues, which I passed on.

"Hayley has also promised to attend our regular Test Valley Partnership meetings, which I chair. They include representatives from the NHS, the Fire Service, The Army, Aster, Andover college, and Hampshire County Council amongst others and look forward to introducing her to those she hasn’t already met at our meeting next month."
