Audience members are encouraged to stay and play after the show in a making session inspired by the recycling inventions seen in the show. Designed by Office award-winner Samuel Wilde (I Want My Hat Back Trilogy, Little Angel Theatre), the production features a unique set lovingly hand-made from almost entirely recycled materials by Sam and the team.
Sam who recently won Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Christmas on Channel 4, said: "I’m really proud of Curious Investigators. It is a vibrant, otherworldly show that champions the health of our planet – and inspires creativity in its young audiences."
Following two successful national tours in 2022, the production is heading back out on the road for a bumper spring tour. From Cumbria to the Isle of Wight, taking in 28 venues, audiences will be able to join in the fun at family theatre festivals, community centres, libraries, theatres, and more until April 16.

This 2023 remount is co-directed by Daniel Bye, the award-winning director of Arthur and These Hills Are Ours, alongside the show’s writer, Artistic Director Sarah Punshon (Cinderella: the AWESOME truth, Polka Theatre). Curious Investigators was originally commissioned by Big Imaginations, the network supporting brilliant children's theatre in the North.
Sarah Punshon, the artistic director, added: "It’s really exciting to be heading back out on the road with Curious Investigators. The great thing about such an interactive show is that it’s fresh and fun, different every time, depending on the audience’s ideas. We’re looking forward to making new discoveries every day."
