Bumble & Bee jewellery shop opens in Overton high street

‘Bumble & Bee’ store in Overton high street has been opened by Emily Daywho has been making and selling jewellery since she was seven.

Emily said she is very excited to open her first brick-and-mortar shop and workshop space.

“I'm absolutely thrilled as I have been working very hard for these past years,” she said.

“So I'm chuffed to see it all coming together. I didn't think I'd ever get to this point, but I did all the hard work to get it done.”

The 23-year-old first started making jewellery when she was just seven.

She used to sell her jewellery at car boot sales.

In 2017, when she was 16 and in college, Emily started what is now Bumble & Bee, with a passion for beautiful, affordable and long-lasting jewellery.

Since then Bumble & Bee has grown beyond her wildest dreams.

“I was under the mission of starting a business that I was going to run for the rest of my life. Everyone around me was like ‘we’ll see’. But I think I had a bit of an ‘I told you so’ moment today. I knew I'd do it eventually.”

Now, Emily teaches silver smithing classes and sells her jewellery across the world. She said her sterling silver jewellery is handmade using the most premium, long-lasting, high quality and ethically sourced recycled silver from the UK.

Her silver collections are created using solid sterling silver so that it will be as high quality in 10 years time as the day it's purchased.

She said silver is also all recycled before being made into our jewellery and any offcuts are kept and used to create zero waste collection.

Emily added that all her products are designed to be accessible for everyone, and which is why her ring sizes range from C to Z.
