THIS Hampshire country pub goes the extra mile to give back to the community.
The George Inn is located in the quiet countryside village of St Mary Bourne and has been in operation for around 250 years.
The current owners, Simon Lawrence and Chris Phillips took over the pub in December 2020 and have revitalised its soul.
Simon said: "The pub has undergone a complete refurbishment since we took over.
"This has helped to encourage more visitors to the pub." 
Claire Wilson was the previous manager of the pub for nearly six years, she now works in the bar and runs marketing and social media operations for the George Inn.

She said: "The George Inn hosts so many different events now."
Quiz nights, themed supper clubs and a repair cafe are just a few of these events, whilst coffee mornings are held on Tuesdays, arranged by locals.
She added: "The pub brought me into the community, and it found a place in my heart."
The new management made it a priority to involve the local community when they took over, often featuring live music from Andover bands on weekends, but it is the food that head chef Simon wanted to highlight the most.
He said: "All our food is locally sourced, with a seasonal menu that changes regularly."
The pub prides itself on "good quality home-cooked food, with efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere."
The George Inn doesn't just buy local produce, it gives back to the locals, donating one per cent of all profit to local community projects.
Owner Chris Phillips explained that their donations have "helped to support the local cricket club" and they have also raised money for the nearby church and school.
He said: "We also offer discount cards to residents of the Valley, who can use them to purchase food and drink.
"Our pub is unlike most modern gastropubs, it fits all rather than one, people from all walks of life come here."
The George Inn offers a board room and two side rooms that guests can book, with one of them allegedly 'haunted by a ghost' according to local legend.
Two further bedrooms are available for guests to book should they wish to stay the night.
The George Inn emphasises the local aspect of village pubs, and deservedly takes the spot as Andover Advertiser's Pub of the Month for March 2023.
