AN ANDOVER woman is set to undertake a mammoth walking challenge to raise money for the school where she works.
Kelly Louise, 39, is currently training to walk from London to Brighton in 24 hours to raise money for Icknield School in River Way.
She is a River Way resident and works for the transport team at Icknield, a special school for children and young people with severe learning difficulties.
Kelly, who has previously shaved her head to raise money for good causes, said this will be the longest walk she had ever taken in her life.

She decided to undertake the challenge because she wanted to “do something amazing” before she turned 40.
“I’m really excited and also absolutely terrified,” Kelly said. “I’m going to walk in the dark and I’m worried I’m not going to make it, but I have been training a lot and I did a 42km walk in five and half hours. I hope I can do the big walk too.”
She is planning to undertake the long walk on May 28.
The London to Brighton Ultra Challenge is a 100km (65 miles) journey through the English countryside all the way down to the bright shores.
The walk begins in Richmond in London and ends at Brighton.
Kelly’s aim is to complete the challenge in under 24 hours, and hopefully closer to 18 hours.
She is training for the walk now along with her nine-year-old son Tristan and dog Bertie.

She said Icknield School is a place close to her heart, adding: “It provides a happy, safe and exciting learning environment for our children and our wider community. We are very proud of our vibrant, friendly school where all the staff and governors work together to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our children.”
Her target is to raise at least £500.
