STUDENTS from an Andover school won the semi-final of a youth speaking competition.
On Saturday, March, 25 Rookwood School's intermediate debating team won the semi-final of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition at the University of Surrey in Guildford.
They had previously already won three stages to reach the semi-final, where they were competing against schools from across London and the South East of England.

The team of William Nias, Mia Blackmore and Sophie Brain all impressed the panel of judges, who enjoyed the wit and humour of their debate entitled 'Let’s Ban Fairytales'. They were particularly praised for their teamwork.
They will now progress to the national final, which will be held on Sunday, April 23, in Rugby, Warwickshire.
