A HOSPICE in Andover is heading to Stockbridge to share its work with members of the community.
The Countess of Brecknock Hospice is an organisation that provides palliative and end-of-life care to those with life-limiting conditions. The event will be hosted by The Grosvenor Hotel on Wednesday, April 5 for an opportunity to meet the hospice's care team.
The Hospice Charitable Trust, an independent registered charity, built the original hospice which opened in 1990. The charity raised £4.8m to build and equip the new Hospice which opened in 2020.

The charity supports the running costs, an additional Community Palliative Care Nurse, the Hospice at Home overnight service, and the Day Centre programme as well as providing specialist equipment, patient and staff welfare.
All care at the hospice is completely free, which allows them to help those who need it most. It does, however, mean they rely largely on donations in order to provide the best care possible.

Hospice staff will be taking questions from 10.30am to 12.30pm, with refreshments provided by the hotel.
The day will also be an opportunity to learn about supporting the hospice. Although it is an NHS hospice, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust has supported the hospice for more than 20 years, allowing patients to be admitted full-time.
A spokesperson for the hospice said: "‘Hospice on Tour’ is organised by the Countess of Brecknock Hospice in Andover. The Hospice covers nine GP surgeries in Andover, Stockbridge, Sutton Scotney and the surrounding villages. People are always surprised to know that, whilst we have ten beds in the inpatient unit, we care for up to 180 patients in the community.
"‘Hospice on Tour’ is an opportunity to share what we do, explain the services we offer and encourage people to support us. We hope people will join us in Stockbridge on April 5 at the Grosvenor Hotel which is kindly supporting the event. People can drop in anytime from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Staff will be making short presentations during the morning and will be on hand to answer questions. There will be homemade cake and hot drinks as well as items on sale to support the hospice."
