THE cancellation of a number of bus services across Test Valley has been delayed.

The Cango bus service was due to be withdrawn, with a proposed demand-responsive service due to take its place. The services affected were the Cango C3 through to C8. The service had been due to stop on April 1 but has now been extended for the foreseeable future.

Cango operates a flexible, not fixed route, that allows users to book a journey at either ‘timed’ or ‘bookable’ stopping points. Any resident within the operating area can use Cango, and passengers can also arrange to have it call at personal points, such as the pub, garage or shops.

A spokesperson for Hampshire County Council said: "The county council is still finalising the details of the new service which means there will be no change to the Cango service on 1 April.

"Once the new service is confirmed, information will be published on the county council’s website, on travel planning websites, and displayed at bus stops and on the bus to ensure that passengers are kept fully informed."
