A BRAZEN thief snuck up to a Nest video doorbell and covered it in tape before making off with a car from a driveway in Andover.
The car, a Mercedes GLC, was stolen from a driveway in Wisley Road at 3.30am on April 5.
A man can be seen approaching the resident's Nest doorbell and then putting tape over the camera, before proceeding to take the car.
The incident has left the car owner shocked. They said they woke and checked the doorbell around 7am, before rushing out to the front of the house and realising the car had been taken.
A golf trolley and child's car seat were also in the vehicle when it was stolen.
The resident, who did not wish to be named, said they had also contacted Mercedes directly on April 5 in the hope they might be able to track the car.
They put out a plea for people to be alert to both the stolen car and of this type of crime.
They said: “We really hope the lowlifes get caught and are brought to justice, this is happening way too often now."
They called on the police to take action.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said they were appealing for witnesses.
They said: "We were called just before 7am on April 5, to reports of a blue Mercedes being stolen from outside an address on Wisley Road, Andover.
"Anyone with information can call 101 with reference 44230133967."
